Police have booked an additional deputy commissioner (ADC) for allegedly sexually harassing a woman at his residence in Assam’s Kokrajhar district.

The woman, who is a mother of a child, has lodged a complaint with Kokrajhar police station alleging that ADC Debeswar Bora sexually assaulted her when she had gone to his official residence for settlement of a land-related issue.

She said the ADC Bora called her to his official residence for settlement of a land dispute and accordingly she went to his residence alone as her husband had to go to Guwahati.

The woman alleged that Bora in course of their conversation sought sexual favours from her and when she refused, the ADC kept a hold of her right hand.

He also allegedly threatened her with dire consequences but she somehow could come out of the residence.

The woman told reporters that she had approached the Assam State Women Commission seeking action against the ADC.

On the other hand, the ADC has refuted the harassment charges and also filed a counter FIR against the woman at Kokrajhar police station.
