Mizoram state election commission on Monday announced elections to Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) headquartered at Lawngtlai in the southern part of the state.
According to notification issued by the state poll panel, polling for the 25-member council will be held on December 4 and re-poll if required will be held on December 5.
The last date for filing nomination papers was fixed on 20 November while the last date for withdrawal of candidature was scheduled on 23 November.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on 20 November from 3 pm and counting of votes would be undertaken on December 8.
All the election process was scheduled to be completed by 14 December and the first meeting of the council should be convened latest by December 18, the notification said.
According to an election official, there are 51,456 electorates, including 26,104 female voters in 25 constituencies within LADC according to the latest electoral roll published on November 7.
