Tripura has registered 7 more COVID19 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 308.

This has been confirmed by the latest bulletin on COVID19, released by the state health department on Thursday night.

With the demise of 7 more deaths, the state’s fatality rate has gone up to 1.11%, which was 1.09% on October 7.

Tripura registered the first COVID19 death on June 8.

A total of 28 people have died of COVID19 infection this month so far.

In the last 24 hours, 214 new COVID19 positive cases were detected in Tripura.

The new cases were detected out of 2,059 samples.

The state’s overall positivity rate is 6.08% while the recovery rate stands at 84.55%.

The state has recorded 27,759 positive cases so far, out of which 23,451 patients have recovered while the number of active cases stands at 3974.

The West Tripura district magistrate, Dr. Sailesh Kumar Jadav, informed that the health workers are now going from door to door to check them.

The door-to-door campaign was started from Thursday.

The Tripura West MP, Pratima Bhoumik, held a meeting with the senior doctors of GBP hospital to take stock of the COVID19 situation.

In the meeting, it was decided that the Jayanti Ward would soon be converted into a full-fledged Covid care centre.
