A 28-year-old man from Delhi, who was on the run after murdering his girlfriend at his rented home in Dwarka nearly 10 days ago, was arrested by the police in Dibrugarh on Saturday.

This was informed to the media in New Delhi on Saturday by the Delhi Police.

The accused has been identified as Satish Kumar, son of a retired Army personnel.

Kumar had allegedly murdered his girlfriend Dishu Kumari after a fight over sharing of a password of her mobile phone.

” Satish and Dishu were colleagues at a Gurugram BPO. On September 23, the woman had come to Satish’s accommodation in Chhawla,” the police said.

“He grew suspicious as the woman was getting calls from another person while she was with Satish,” the police added.

“He repeatedly asked her to unlock her phone to check the call details. Both had a heated argument, after which Satish strangled the girl to death,” police added.

“He later hid the body inside a bed and fled,” the police further added.

Dishu’s body was discovered two days later after neighbours complained of foul smell from the room.

Satish took away Dishu’s woman’s mobile phone and threw it into bushes near Greater Kailash.

He also sold his mobile phones to avoid tracing by police and fled to Dibrugarh, from where he was finally arrested.
