Mizoram health minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana on Sunday said that Truelab Quattro Real Time Quantitative micro PCR machines have been successfully installed in 10 districts of the state barring Aizawl.
He said that majority of the newly installed multiple testing machines would be operational from this week.
According to the health minister, the micro PCR machines could be used for testing at least 16 diseases, including Covid-19.
Citing that the new machines would benefit the people especially those living in remote areas, Lalthangliana said 100-200 samples could be tested in a day with the help of a micro PCR machine.
He said that the government would continue with its massive efforts to avoid any fatality due to Covid-19.
He added that efforts are on to resolve shortage in Covid Care Centre (CCC) and Dedicated COVID Health Centre (DCHC) to treat people, who are infected by Covid-19.
Currently, Mizoram has two Covid-19 testing laboratories- one at Zoram Medical College (ZMC), which is equipped with RT-PCR machines and another at Lunglei civil hospital where TrueNat machine is used.
Mizoram on Sunday reported 5 more Covid-19 cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1008.
