Giving a surge of hope to many battling the COVID19 infection, a 28-day-old baby in Arunachal Pradesh has recovered from the dreaded virus.

The recovery has also made the infant, the youngest to recover from the virus in the state so far.

Officials said the baby along with his mother was kept in home isolation in Likabali, the headquarters of Lower Siang district, after testing positive for COVID19.

They were handed over the discharge certificates on Saturday after they tested negative for the virus in two consecutive tests, the officials said.

Lower Siang deputy commissioner AK Singh, and extra assistant commissioner, Ejum Angu have lauded the efforts of the doctors and frontline health workers who took great care of the mother-son duo and saved their lives.

“This is a satisfying and positive moment for Team Lower Siang in its approach towards fighting the Covid-19 pandemic,” the DC said.

Singh also congratulated the mother for taking special care of the baby and exhorted all involved in the war against the virus to continue their good works with more zeal and determination.
