Assam on Saturday reported 1,560 new Covid-19 positive cases, taking the total tally to 89,468, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
Out of the fresh cases, 352 cases have been reported from Kamrup (Metro) district, 137 cases detected in Jorhat district, 104 cases in Kamrup (R) district.
The state on Saturday tested 23,040 samples for the novel coronavirus while the positivity rate reached 6.77 per cent.

Out of the total cases detected in the state so far, 67,641 patients have recovered. The state has now 21,590 active positive cases of coronavirus.
A total of 2,405 patients were discharged from different Covid-care centres of the state.
On the other hand, a total of 3,310 Assam police personnel have tested positive for the virus.
