City police on Sunday evening arrested 10 persons, including a woman for allegedly running a gambling den as well involved in flash trade from Bora Service area in Guwahati.
Acting on a tip-off a team of Paltan Bazar police raided the Sri Ram guest house in Bora Service area of the city and arrested two men and a woman for allegedly involved in flash trade.
The arrested two persons have been identified as Nikhil Das and Manik Paul. The police also nabbed seven other persons for allegedly running a gambling den from the guest house.
They have been identified as Prabir Kr Dey, Chandan Prasad, Rajib Choudhury, Amit Surana, Anil Maheswari, Amit Pangyon and Kamakhya Pradhan.
A police official said they received information on Sunday about gambling and betting in a guest house in Bhangarah area.
“A raid was conducted and 10 people, including a woman, were arrested. They were found indulging in gambling and betting at the time of the raid,” he added. A case has been registered in this connection.
