Nagaland has registered 38 new COVID19 positive cases on Wednesday, taking the state’s overall tally to 3,558.

Sharing the news, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Wednesday said the new cases have been detected out of 615 samples tested.

“Update! 38 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed out of 615 samples tested,” health minister Phom tweeted.

The health minister informed that of the new cases, 29 have been detected in Dimapur, 7 in Kohima, and 1 each case has been detected in Kiphire and Wokha districts.

“Necessary contact tracing has been activated and all primary contacts are under self-isolation,” the health minister said.

According to the latest report, prepared by the Nagaland COVID19 war room, the total number of positive cases in the state reached 3,558.

Nagaland currently has 1,880 active COVID19 cases.

A total of 1,664 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid Care Centres across Nagaland after they tested negative.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 7 positive patients in Nagaland.

Another positive patient also died in the state but due to other causes.
