Four bowlers from Assam will be a part of the IPL franchises Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad and they will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the 13th Indian Premier League season.

The bowlers, however, will not be a part of the main team but will be bowling at the nets to the batsmen from the respective teams to help them prepare for the forthcoming season.

The bowlers chosen to travel to UAE are Jitumoni Kalita (Lakhimpur), Rahul Singh (Silchar), Mrinmoy Dutta (Nagaon), and Mukhtar Hussain (Dibrugarh).

While Jitumoni, Rahul, and Mrinmoy will be a part of the Rajasthan Royals contingent, Mukhtar, on the other hand, will bowl to the batsmen of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The decision was taken after bio-security measures were put in place for the 53-day tournament, which is scheduled to begin from September 19.

The eight franchise of the IPL were asked to pick their own net bowlers maintaining the league’s health protocols.

As per the regulations, local cricketer cannot be used for the tournament as net bowlers.
