Tripura government will start telemedicine services for the COVID-19 patients soon.

This was informed by parliamentarian Pratima Bhowmik to the media on Saturday.

She said several initiatives including dedication of Medical and Respiratory ICU (MICU and RICU) of AGMC and GBP hospital for critical COVID-19 patients have been taken to strengthen the fight against novel coronavirus.

Bhowmik is also the chairperson of Rogi Kalyan Samity, of GBP hospital, Agartala.

She informed through this facility, the senior faculty and doctors will interact with the patients admitted in the ward every day at 11 am.

The nodal officer will interact with the family members of COVID-19 patients and provide them update on the health status of the patients everyday between 3 pm and 4 pm.

As decided in the meeting, the existing MICU of 11 bed capacity and RICU of six bed capacity in the 4th floor of GBP hospital would be dedicated for the critically ill COVID-19 patients as a stop gap measure.

The existing non-COVID patients of the MICU and RICU would be shifted to IGM hospital and for shifting of the patients, the MD, NHM would be requested to provide 102 Ambulance Service.
