As the COVID-19 case continue to rise in Tripura, the state government has decided to impose complete lockdown in the border areas from Friday for seven days.

Active COVID-19 cases surged to 660 in the state with the report of 98 fresh positive cases. A total of 3412 samples were tested.

Meanwhile, another COVID-19 patient succumbed to the infection in Khowai district and Tripura so far has recorded three COVID-19 deaths.

As the government has decided to impose the lockdown, security has been tightened across the Yakubnagar and Ragna border in Dharmanagar.

The movement of individuals shall remain prohibited except for emergency needs.

All offices, schools, government and private institutions, markets and shops will remain closed.
