The Gauhati High Court has granted bail to RTI activist and farmers’ organisation Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi in 3 cases.

“The cases in Chabua police station lodged against Gogoi, in which he has been granted bail, are 293/2019, 296/2019 and 307/2019,” Akhil Gogoi’s lawyer Krishna Gogoi told Northeast Now  on Thursday.

If the court grants bail to the KMSS leader in two other cases including one case lodged by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and no fresh case is filed against him, he will be able to come out of the jail.

The two other cases, in which Akhil Gogoi is yet to get bail, are NIA case No 13/19 and case No 1/20 lodged in Chabua police station.
