The total number of Covid-19 positive cases in Manipur reached 1,672 while the total active cases stands at 652, according to latest official sources in Imphal on Tuesday.
On the other hand, the total number of recovered cases continues to surpass the active cases since July 4 onwards.
In the past 24 hours,46 individuals (33 male,13 females) were confirmed as new COVID 19 cases at the viral research and diagnosis laboratories of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS-30),Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS-12) and SDH lab Jiribam(4), says health department officials said in a press release on tuesday night.
They belong to districts of Churachandpur(3), Imphal East(4), Imphal West(6), Jiribam(4), Kangpokpi(5), Tamenglong(11), Thoubal(3)and Ukhrul(10).
All are returnees from other states. They will be shifted to COVID care facilities.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
In the past 24 hours,50 persons were discharged from various COVID Care Centres of Meitram(26),Churachandpur(4),Tamenglong(4),Thoubal(2),Senapati(1),Ukhrul(2) and covid care facility JNIMS(11) in the state, it added.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state is 1,672.The total numbers of active and recovered cases are 652 and 1020 respectively.
The recovery rate is 60.00 percent, it said.
As on Tuesday, a total of 3,02,980 persons were screened at various entry points of the state while a total of 65,138 samples were tested for COVID 19.
Altogether 55,118 persons have completed their quarantine while 4,435 were still at various quarantine centres in the state.
