A doctor at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati reportedly died of COVID-19 on Monday.
Sources said Dr Jahan Iqbal Ahmed, who is an associate professor of Ophthalmology at GMCH, succumbed to the disease on Monday.
The 50-year-old physician, an asymptomatic Covid-19 patient, was under treatment at his home, sources added.
He died before reaching hospital due to respiratory problem.
