Dhubri MP and AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after mild dip in his oxygen saturation level.

Confirming the news, Salmara South MLA and Badruddin Ajmal’s son Abdur Rehman Ajmal tweeted: “Maulana Badruddin Ajmal Sahab was not feeling well due to a mild drop in his oxygen saturation level, on doctor’s recommendation he has been shifted to hospital from his residence. We are waiting for his Covid report and will keep you updated on it.”

Earlier, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief tested negative for COVID19 in swab test.

Regarding media reports stating that Ajmal tested COVID19 positive, the MP tweeted:  “As I have informed earlier, I am not keeping well since last week. There have been media reports about me testing positive for Covid-19. In that regard I want to make it clear that my last Covid-19 swab test report which was done on 4th July came out negative.”

In an earlier tweet, Ajmal said he was at home under expert doctor’s supervision and was feeling much better.

As recommended by the doctor to be on the safe side, the MP again gave his swab for COVID19 test and the test report is yet to arrive.

He said: “Hopefully I will get the report soon. As of now there is no official report that I am Covid19 positive.”

He requested everyone to stay united and follow government guidelines and pray for him as well as others.

Meanwhile, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said he is monitoring the health status of the Dhubri MP and wished him speedy recovery.

Health minister Sarma tweeted: “AIUDF Chief, MP Dhubri Badruddin Ajmal is admitted at a Mumbai hospital after a mild dip in his oxygen saturation level. I am in constant touch with his family and monitoring his health. I join all in wishing him speedy recovery.”
