Tripura  government has imposed a night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am in the state as a measure to prevent spread of Covid-19.

Tripura law minister Ratanlal Nath said the curfew will commence from Sunday night and will continue till July 31.

He said the night curfew along the Indo-Bangla border areas will, however, start at 7 pm and will continue till 7 am next day.

Minister Nath said a large number of Covid-19 positive cases have been reported from the border areas recently.

He, however, said that though the Covid-19 positive cases are increasing alarmingly, the situation in the state is still under control.

A total of 141 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in the state on Friday taking the state tally to 1,931.
