Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) has decided to close all its services until July 10 after one of its health workers tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.

TRIHMS at Naharlagun in Papum Pare district, is the lone medical college hospital of Arunachal Pradesh and also one among the two dedicated Covid Care Hospitals of the state.

The other Covid Care Hospital is in Pasighat, the headquarters of East Siang district.

The health worker who tested positive for the virus was reportedly working at the Covid Care Centre of TRIHMS.

An order issued by Heath Secretary P Prathiban on Wednesday said all services including OPD, emergency, operation, labour room, etc. will remain closed till July 10.

The health secretary said the order was issued to conduct the Covid19 screening of all health workers and to sanitize the TRIHMS premises.

The office of the Capital Complex superintendent of police was also sealed on Tuesday evening after one of its staff tested positive for Covid19.

As per reports, the staff member, a lady constable in the Capital police, was suffering from fever for a couple of days.

The lady constable has no travel history.

Following a spurt in the number of Covid19 positive cases, a week-long lockdown has been imposed in the Capital since Monday evening.

The total tally of active Covid19 cases in the state as of July 07 is 169.

Where a total of 105 people have recovered from the virus, there has been two Covid19 related casualties in the state so far.
