On the day when the total number of COVID19 positive cases in Assam stands at 11,001, a total of 690 other patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, were discharged from various hospitals across Assam on Sunday.

Sharing the good news on his Twitter handle on Sunday, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said:  “Discharge Alert. Even as the numbers rise, there is a silver lining as well. Glad to share that 690 more patients have been discharged today. My best wishes.”

With the release of 690 more patients, the total number of COVID19 cases discharged from the hospitals in Assam increased to 7,433.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 14 persons in Assam so far while 3 cases have migrated from the state.

Assam currently has 3,551 active COVID19 cases.

“Total Discharged Patients – 7433. Active Patients – 3551,” health minister Sarma added.

On Sunday, India reported a huge spike of 22,771 new COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours along with 613 fatalities, the Union Health Ministry said.

The number of recoveries stands at 4,09,083, with over 19,000 people have succumbed to the disease till now.
