Three-year-old killed in Kokrajhar, body recovered from pond

The recovery of the body of a three-year-old from a pond in South Tengapara area of Kokrajhar town has sent shockwaves in the region.

The child was murdered and thrown to the pond and the police have picked up four persons in this connection.

“As per our preliminary investigation suggests, the child was killed and thrown to the pond,” said Kokrajhar DSP (Headquarters) Punamjit Nath.

“We have picked up four persons for interrogation” Nath added.

The murder of the three-year-old has been condemned by various organisations of Kokrajhar town.

Various organisations have condemned the killing and rise in crime against women in the district.
