Some inmates quarantines at Mazbat College created an unruly situation on Friday burning some of the beds and other properties of the institution allegedly for not allowing them to go home after three inmates tested COVID-19 positive.

Videos of the inmates setting quarantine centre properties on fire have gone viral on social media.

The bizarre incident, however, was later brought under control by Mazbat Revenue Circle Officer Dhritiman Das.

Meanwhile, four persons of Mazbat tested COVID-19 positive taking the toll in Udalguri to 65.

Out of the 4 patients, three are from the quarantine centre at Mazbat College.

The fourth patient is a seven-month pregnant woman.

All of them are currently undergoing treatment in the isolation ward of Udalguri Civil Hospital.

There are 77 inmates at the Mazbat College Quarantine Centre.
