Union HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Saturday said the date sheets for the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams will be released on Monday.

The Union Human Resources Development (HRD) minister had earlier announced that the date sheets for the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board exams would be made available by 5 pm on Saturday.

However, the date sheets were not announced as the board is taking into consideration some additional technical aspects before finalizing it, the HRD minister said and regretted the “inconvenience caused”.

“CBSE is taking into consideration some additional technical aspects before finalizing the datesheets of the board exams of classses 10th and 12th, due to which, the datesheets will now be released by Monday i.e. 18-05-2020. Inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted,” HRD minister Nishank tweeted.

The HRD minister earlier announced that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) would conduct the remaining Class 10 and 12 board examinations from July 1-15, 2020.

However, the detailed schedule of the pending board exams will be disclosed on May 18.

Examinations of as many as 29 subjects were deferred due to the nationwide lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with effect from March 24 midnight in view of the COVID19 pandemic.

HRD minister Nishank had earlier announced that the evaluation of answer sheets of 173 subjects would be done by the board examiners in their homes.

The CBSE on Thursday announced that Classes IX and XI students, who failed in their examinations, will be given another opportunity to clear it.

The board also said the decision to extend this one-time opportunity for the current year has been taken in view of the unprecedented situation arising out of COVID19.
