Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein on Friday said that the state has enough funds under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for disposal and there should be no major problems as such in the near future.
“The SDRF is not stressed and there should be no problems in this regard,” Mein told reporters in Itanagar on Friday.
Mein further asserted that the state government too is not facing any financial crisis at present and all matters related to Covid-19 are being properly death with.
“All files in relation to Covid-19 are being cleared by the finance department,” he said.
He said the state’s finance, planning and investment department has constituted a high level committee to look into the issues faced by the small business, traders and entrepreneurs of the state.
The committee headed by the state’s principal secretary (finance) would coordinate with the people according to the announcements of the central government, Mein said.
With regards to the Covid-19 preparedness in Arunachal, Mein said the state government has taken various measures to contain the spread of the dreaded virus since its outbreak.
“Apart from two dedicated Covid-19 hospitals, we have set up intensive care units in 6 zonal hospitals and have so established 679 isolation facilities and 3303 quarantine centers,” he said.
The deputy chief minister said the government is also planning to set up a 200-bedded hospital in collaboration with the R K Mission Hospital in Itanagar.
Mein further thanked all the frontline warriors for their effort in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic and appealed all to continue following the laid down guidelines and SoPs of the government for one’s safety.
The deputy chief minister, on the day, also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the mega financial package which he announced on Tuesday to revive the Indian economy crippled by the Covid-19 crisis.
“This huge economic package of Rs 20 lakh crore is one of the biggest economic relief announced in the world after USA and Japan amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“PM Modi’s decisive and inspirational leadership has ensured that we, as a country, are able to fight the Covid crisis in a much synchronized manner as compared to many other countries across the globe,” said Mein.
Mein said the announcements will go a long way in addressing the issues faced by the businesses, MSMEs, small traders and entrepreneurs, street vendors, farmers and migrant workers, besides benefiting the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
