Nagaland government has said that disciplinary action will be initiated if schools are reopened in the state in violation of lockdown norms.

Principal Director, school education department, Shanavas C. on Sunday said reopening of schools, both government and private, in any manner is in violation of the lockdown order issued by the state government earlier.

He said severe disciplinary action will be initiated against the violators.

Shanavas issued a notification following reports that a few schools in the state have issued notifications regarding resuming of classes in a phased manner.

He also asked all parents and guardians not to send their children to schools until official orders for reopening of schools are issued by the competent authority.

In another development, the state government assigned agriculture production commissioner Y. Kikheto Sema as the overall in-charge of Dimapur district for all Covid-19 related activities being carried out in the district with immediate effect.
