Union health and science & technology minister Dr Harsh Vardhan will launch the multimedia guide titled COVID Katha on Sunday.

The guide will be released on the occasion of the 49th foundation day of the Department of Science and Technology (DST).

The guide has been produced by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), DST, Government of India and Dr Anamika Ray Memorial Trust (ARMT).

Informing about the launch of the guide, the managing trustee of ARMT, Dr Ankuran Dutta told Northeast Now: “It was a collaborative work. We have been really worked very hard to prepare a national document on all aspects of COVID-19 with authentic data.”

“It’s an interactive PDF document where videos, web links are linked with each page. The document is designed with contents in A to Z format. The Trust is grateful to the Govt of India for providing the opportunity.”

COVID19 pandemic has created a global health emergency today.

The virus has so far paused the normal lives of the people compelling to stay indoors, work from home, maintain social distancing and hygiene.

In the present state of uncertainty, enormous confusion is created among common man due to an abundant supply of misinformation, disinformation, fake news, misbeliefs and rumours on various media platforms including social media.

In view of providing consolidated and authentic information on the global crisis to the masses in an interesting and interactive mode, the NCSTC, DST, Government of India in association with ARMT, an educational and research organization, has brought out the multimedia guide.

The guide contains important information on COVID19 in both English and Hindi.
