Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath on Sunday said every student from Class I to IX and XI have been promoted to the next class in view of the coronavirus pandemic
He also informed that online or virtual classes for the students of state government schools have also begun.
“Online or virtual classes for all students up to higher secondary level have begun in the state from Sunday in 14 local cable channels,” Nath said.
“Pre-recorded classes are already available in the ‘YouTube’ under the title of ‘Tripura Shiksha Bandhu,” he added.
“All examinations were conducted before the announcement of the lockdown,” Nath said.
“Unless classes are started, the students would face a problem, so we have decided to impart education through apps and local TV channels,” he further said.
“Regular classes in the schools would be starting from May 4 after lockdown period”, he added.
The education minister also informed that 22 general degree colleges and seven technical institutions of the state have already begun online classes and WhatsApp groups have also been created on subjects and semester wise.
“If any student is willing to clear doubt, then he or she can call the teacher or email them,” Nath said.
