Three COVID19 patients were discharged from two different hospitals in Assam on Saturday after their recovery.

With these three patients, the total number of discharged COVID19 patients in Assam reached 12 on Saturday.

On Saturday, while two patients were discharged from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) at Panbazar in Guwahati, another patient was discharged from Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH).

The two patients discharged from MMCH were Md Arshad and Md Rizuwan.

They were discharged after their samples tested negative for COVID19 for four successive times.

The discharge at MMCH was monitored by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with his deputy Pijush Hazarika.

Despite their recovery, the cured patients will have to remain under 14-day quarantine as per protocol.

Sharing pictures of monitoring the discharge of the 2 patients at MMCH, minister Sarma tweeted on Saturday: “Pleased to share that I & MOS @Pijush_hazarika monitored discharge of 2 #COVID patients today – Md Arshad & Md Rizuwan – from MMCH after their 4 successive tests came as negative. They will now be sent for home quarantine.”

The COVID19 patient discharged from SMCH was Sajibur Rahman.

He was discharged from the hospital after his samples tested negative for three successive times.

However, he will also have to remain under quarantine for 14 days.

Confirming this on Saturday, health minister Sarma tweeted: “Good news!  One more #COVID patient – Sajibur Rahman is discharged from Silchar Medical College & Hospital after 3 successive tests reported as negative. He is being sent for home quarantine.  Total cured patients – 12.”

Minister along with deputy Pijush Hazarika monitored the discharge of the patient at SMCH.

Assam forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya was also present during the visit of the health minister to SMCH.

Earlier, 2 patients were discharged from Sonapur Civil Hospital, 3 from Goalpara Civil Hospital and 4 from Goalpara Civil Hospital.
