The government employees in Meghalaya on Tuesday welcomed the decision of the government to ask them to be back to work.
However, they sought to know the steps taken to provide them the transportation facility from home to their respective offices.
The government has not allowed public transport to move on the roads, except private vehicles from April 15.
“Not all employees own vehicles. The government cannot expect all employees would come to work on their own vehicles. Many of them do not have vehicles and it will be difficult for many employees to come to the office and go back home on foot,” one of the employees pointed out.
Many employees wanted the government to arrange buses to fetch and drop them.

The Meghalaya Cabinet on Monday decided to ask all its employees to resume their duty from April 15.
However, private business establishments will continue to remain closed.
At present, only 30 per cent of employees are coming to work, and the rest 70 per cent are staying at home.
Some of the employees have to also work from home.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown from March 24 midnight as a preventive measure to contain the outbreak of COVID19.
Along with the rest of the country, the lockdown has also been strictly implemented across Meghalaya.
However, Meghalaya has nor recorded any COVID19 positive cases so far.
