The Bodo Evangelical Lutheran Church has donated Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) for the needy people who have suffered due to the lockdown in view of COVID19.

The Bodo Evangelical Lutheran Church has extended thanks to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for their endless efforts to fight against COVID-19.

Rt. Rev. Ichahak Muchahary, Bishop of Bodo Evangelical Lutheran Church, headquartered at Kothalguri in Udalguri district said, “We have donated Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for extending help to the needy people and those who have been suffering from COVID19.”

He said, “We are happy to join hands with the government in the fight against COVID19.”

“We are looking forward to give relief directly to the widows, orphaned children, beggar and the daily labourers of our community,” he said.

Muchahary also said, “We have collected the donation money from our church believers who are willing to support the government in this situation.”

“At the same time I would like to thank my church people who are standing together to fight against COVID19,” the church leader added.

He also said, “Our BELC church will soon distribute food items to the needy and poor people in Chirang district and to 100 people in Udalguri district.”
