As coronavirus cases continue to increase in the country, the Kokrajhar Civil Hospital has set up an isolation ward to treat patients in case of emergency.

Superintendent of Kokrajhar Rupnath Brahm Civil Hospital AS Sarma said that an isolation ward was kept ready in the hospital to admit coronavirus infected patients.

He said that a 28-bedded isolation ward is kept ready.  He also said 40 more bed can be transformed in case of more cases. He also said ICU isolation ward is being readied at the hospital.

Sarma said an all-out effort is being given to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic with necessary measures taken up by the district health department.

He also emphasized focusing more on preventive measures and creating mass awareness about the coronavirus with active surveillance at the community level for proper respiratory trace syndrome with travel history.

He said the department has been keeping a strict vigil on the visitors coming from the other states of India as well as the people coming back home from other States from their workplaces in order to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus among the citizens.
