The ministry of home affairs on Saturday released a list of helpline numbers of different states and union territories to help people with their queries and request for help during the coronavirus pandemic.

The helpline numbers for Arunachal Pradesh are 08257891310, 8974987127, 9436074396, 0360-2005160/59, 0360-2292774.

For Assam, the helpline numbers are 03612237219, 94014044617.

The helpline numbers for Manipur and Meghalaya are 0385-2443441 and 0364-2502098 respectively.

The helpline numbers for Mizoram and Nagaland are 0389-2345943 and 03702291122 respectively.

The helpline numbers for Sikkim and Tripura are 03592-201145 and 0381-2416045.

The number of coronavirus cases in India jumped to 873 on Saturday and the death toll has increased to 19.

Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on Saturday urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure minimum support services to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) during the lockdown period.

In a letter addressed to the Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment stated that Persons with Disabilities(PwD) are very vulnerable in situations of risk.

They need continuous care and support owing to their disability many of them are dependent on caretakers, maids and other support service providers in their daily activity and living,the letter added.

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has been receiving several calls from various quarters regarding hardship being faced by PwDs during lockdown period as their maids and caregivers are finding it difficult to reach their homes during this period.

The department urged for issuance of instructions to law enforcement authorities in the States/UTs to take immediate steps to issue passes to the caregivers/maids of Persons with Disabilities on priority basis.
