A Pune woman with no travel history in the recent past tested positive for coronavirus, officials said on Saturday.

“Neither the woman nor her relatives in the recent past have travelled to a foreign country,” the officials said while revealing that the woman is currently on ventilator support.

Officials informed that she had last attended a wedding in Navi Mumbai’s Vashi on March 3.

“The lady was initially admitted to a local hospital for pneumonia,” officials informed.

“We collected her samples and they were sent for H1N1 testing, which apparently tested negative,” they added.

The health officials are investigating the case and they are trying to find out the person from whom she might have got the infection.

“As the woman has no travel history to any foreign land, she must have definitely come in contact with someone who had travelled abroad and is coronavirus positive,” the officials added.

“We are also looking into the details of her cab journey to Mumbai. An undetected coronavirus positive person is like a time bomb, waiting to explode without any warnings,” the officials further said.
