In view of coronavirus threat, the owners of hotels, guest houses, and inns in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills have been asked to report to the police regarding the visit of foreigners.
The proprietors of hotels, guest houses, and inns have been asked to submit report online regularly within 24 hours of the arrival or departure of foreigners in their respective premises.
The report will have to be submitted to the office of the East Khasi Hills superintendent of police-cum-foreigners registration officer.

All owners/tenants of private houses/boarding houses/ hostels, schools, colleges, universities, churches, mosques, temples and hospitals authorities should also report to the office of the SP-cum-foreigners registration officer (FRO), East Khasi Hills, Shillong, if any foreigner stays/studies in their respective premise/institute.
This was informed in a statement issued by East Khasi Hills superintendent of police, CA Lyngwa, who is also the foreigners’ registration officer, East Khasi Hills, Shillong.
This was done in exercise of the power conferred by the government of India, ministry of home affairs (foreigners division), New Delhi and in view of Covid-19 threat.
All managers/proprietors of hotels, guest houses, and inns in East Khasi Hills district, who have not registered their user IDs for submission of hotels, guest houses, and inns’ reports online “C” Form should report to the office of the SP-cum-foreigners registration officer, East Khasi Hills for registering of the same, it said.
Moreover, “those, who have registered, also should submit the report online regularly within 24 hours of the arrival/departure of the foreigners in their respective premises,” the statement said.
The authorities concerned should inform the office of the SP-cum-FRO immediately about the visit/stay of foreigners, it said.
All the concerned authorities should be strictly complying with the above order and violation of the above directives, stringent legal action will be taken as per the provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
