Union health minister Harsh Vardhan on Wednesday said a total of 28 people in India have been infected by coronavirus till now.
Twenty-five confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported this week, union minister Vardhan said.
However, the three patients, who were tested positive for coronavirus last month, have now been discharged after their recent tests showed that they have successfully recovered.

Among the twenty-five persons, who recently contacted coronavirus, sixteen of them are Italians.
A 69-year-old Italian tourist was found infected in Jaipur on Tuesday.
The man’s wife and fourteen other tourists have also been tested positive for coronavirus.
The bus driver of the tourists, who is an Indian, has also been infected by COVID-19.
Six people from Agra have also been infected by coronavirus after they came in contact with a man who had recently returned from Europe, say media reports.
The man who was their relative has been tested positive for coronavirus.
A 24-year-old techie in Hyderabad who travelled to the city from Bengaluru after landing from Dubai was also found to be tested positive for coronavirus.
The health minister also said that all passengers arriving from abroad will now have to undergo medical screening at the airports.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held another review meeting to gauge preparedness to fight the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Meanwhile, a total of 17 confirmed cases of coronavirus among Indians living in foreign countries have been reported.
Media reports quoted the union ministry of external affairs as saying that while 16 confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported from Japan, one case has been reported from the UAE.
This has been confirmed by union minister of state for external affairs V Muraleedharan.
Earlier, Indian rupee and equity markets bore the brunt of the rising coronavirus cases in India.
