Aei Maatite– an Assamese film dealing with the subject of witch-hunting in Assam was screened on the closing day of the Global Cinema Festival 2020 in Sikkim on Sunday.
The three-day festival began in Gangtok on Friday.
The movie speaks on witch-hunting- an issue that has been plaguing Assam since centuries.
It speaks as to how a section of people are using witchcraft for their own interests and the movie sends a strong message against witch-hunting.
It also upholds the importance of scientific temperament in life.
The film has been directed by eminent theatre personality Sitanath Lahkar.
