The by-election to Langrin district council constituency of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) in Meghalaya will be held on February 28.
The model code of conduct comes into force in Langrin with announcement of the bypoll schedule on Monday.
According to a notification issued by Meghalaya government, the filing of nominations has started from Monday.
The last date for filing of nominations is February 19, scrutiny of nomination papers on the same day after 3 PM, and the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers on February 20.
Finalization and publication of valid nominations and allocation of symbols is on February 22.
Polling will be held on February 28 from 7 am till 4 pm and counting of votes will be held on March 3.
The bye election to Langrin District Council constituency is necessitated following the demise of sitting member Naser Marweiñ on October 28 last year.
