The first coronavirus victim of India, who was undergoing treatment at the Thrissur Medical College Hospital in Kerala, is ‘recovered’ and may soon be allowed to go home.
This was revealed by the doctors at the hospital as her latest blood sample tested negative for the virus.
“We would conduct one more test and if it also tests negative, she could go home,” the doctors said.
“As of now we can say that the patient is completely cured,” the doctors added.
The girl was studying at a university in Wuhan and it is suspected that she got infected with the virus there.
The Kerala government last had withdrawn the “medical calamity” warning after it successfully restricted virus-affected patients to three.
After the third person was detected in Kasaragod in North Kerala on February 3, the state government carried out a massive awareness campaign at the grassroots level to contain the infection.
