Hangman Pawan Jallad, who will execute the hanging of the Nirbhaya gang-rape convicts, will perform a dummy execution in Tihar jail premises on Friday.
The convicts are scheduled to be hanged on Saturday.
Pawan Jallad, a third-generation hangman, reported to Tihar Jail administration on Thursday.
He will be staying in the jail premises and check the strength of ropes and other related things on Friday.
“The execution will throw a strong message to the society and people will think before committing such heinous crime,” Pawan Jallad said.
“I am looking forward to their hanging and hanging them will give great relief to me,” he added.
The execution was originally scheduled for January 22 but was postponed till Saturday after one of the convicts had filed a mercy petition.
Saturday’s hanging is also under the clouds as one of the convicts filed a mercy petition before the President of India on Wednesday.
“It is highly unlikely that the execution will take place on Saturday,” sources said.
