The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) will organize the ICC Banking & MSME Summit 2020 on Tuesday in Guwahati.

The summit has been initiated to work for the development of the banking & MSME industry in Northeast India by finding out the roadmap towards industrial growth and addressing current challenges.

The ICC Banking & MSME Summit also aims at finding appropriate solutions to the challenges with the interference of central and state governments, regulatory bodies and the governing authorities.

There is an imperative need for accelerating the growth of the financial sector in the Northeast region to make it compatible with the rest of the country.

The topics to be discussed at the summit are ‘Transformation- Opportunities Vs Challenges’, ‘Strengthening internal control mechanism for improved fraud risk management’ and ‘EXIM policy directions between DGFT & MSME’.

The other topics to be discussed include ‘Potential scope for Industrial Growth in NE-East India’, ‘MSME Schemes-scopes, market potential and roadmap for development’ and ‘Way forward to enhance customer satisfaction with innovative technology and services’.

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is a leading institution of trade and business in the eastern and northeastern region of India and is engaged in facilitating the growth of trade and commerce in the region.

The inaugural session of the ICC Banking & MSME Summit will begin at 10.30 am.

The welcome address will be addressed by Ishantor Sobhapandit, regional director-NE, ICC, Guwahati while the special address will be delivered by Innocent Soren, general manager-FED, Reserve Bank of India, Assam.

The inaugural address will be delivered by S. S. Meenakshi Sundaram, commissioner & secretary to the government of Assam. Sasikumar, additional DGFT, Guwahati, will also deliver a speech on the occasion.
