A month-long workshop on Skill Development Programme concluded in Dibrugarh on Tuesday.

A closing ceremony was held on the occasion at the State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development (SIPRD), Banipur in Dibrugarh.

Col Mukesh Pandey, Commanding Officer of the 9th Battalion of Rajputana Rifles along with Manash Das, Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM), Dibrugarh and Bijaya Kar of SIPRD, Guwahati were present at the event.

As part of the project, a total of 57 unemployed youths, including 21 female and 36 male, were selected by the 9th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles from far-flung areas of Dibrugarh district.

The unemployed youths underwent one month of training on air conditioner and fridge repair, beautician & cosmetology and cutting & tailoring at the State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development (SIPRD), Banipur.

The dignitaries exhorted the participants to regularly practise the learnt trades to hone their skills and achieve perfection in the skills.

The participants appreciated the efforts undertaken by the Army with civil administration for organizing the workshop.

The project was funded by the district administration.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants were awarded with the certificates from the SIPRD, Banipur for successful completion of the course.
