The Assam Police has invited online applications from eligible candidates for recruitment in vacant posts of constables.
In pursuance to the advertisement issued on April 25, 2018, and published in newspapers on April 26, 2018, the State Level Police Recruitment Board issued another advertisement announcing the recruitment of constables in Assam Police.
As per the April 26, 2018 advertisement, applications were invited for 5494 vacant posts in Assam Police (Un-armed and armed branch) and now the Assam government has given approval for recruitment in another 1,168 (UBC-540 & ABC -628) posts of constables.
With this, the total number of vacant posts of constables in Assam Police is 6662.
However, according to the latest advertisement, those candidates, who applied earlier as per the April 25, 2018 advertisement, need not apply again.
Age limit: The candidates should not be more than 25 years as on July 1, 2019, and less than 18 years of age as on July 1, 2019.
The candidates must be born on or before the dates as mentioned in the following:
General – born between July 1, 1994 and July 1, 2001.
OBC & MOBC – born between July 1, 1991, and July 1, 2001.
SC/ST – born between – July 1, 1989, and July 1, 2001.
The additional relaxation of 3 years in respect of trained Home Guards/ members of VDPs (registered) who have served for a period of 3 years or more.
There will be additional relaxation of 10 years in respect of FMMOs/ SPOs (certificate to this effect from competent authority will have to be submitted).
As approved by the Assam government, applications have been invited from candidates who passed HSLC or HSSLC examinations.
Receiving of the online application started on December 23, 2019, and the last date of receiving applications is January 6, 2020, at www.slprbassam.in.
