Troops of Guwahati Frontier of the Border Security Force (BSF) nabbed one Indian fake currency note (FICN) racketeer from the bordering areas of Boreralga under South Salmara Mankachar district of Assam.
From his possession the BSF personnel recovered 30,000 fake Indian currency notes (FICN) on Thursday evening.
The PRO of the Guwahati Frontier of the BSF said acting on a tip-off, on Thursday at about 9:30 pm, troops of BOP Boreralga of 6 Battalion BSF under BSF Guwahati Frontier carried out a joint search operation.
In association with the police of Kharuabandha police station, the operation was carried out in the house of Jahirul Islam, 30, son of Md Abdul Kedar, a resident Kaliralga Part-1 Sishumarachar under Sukhchar PS in South Salmara Mankachar district of Assam.
During the search, suspected fake Indian currency notes (FICN) Rs 30,000 were recovered.
Joint operation party apprehended the fake Indian currency note racketeer.
Nabbed Jahirul Islam has been handed over to Kharuabandha police station under the South Salmara police station for further legal action.
“BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes,” the BSF PRO stated.
