A five-member Congress delegation led by Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh on Sunday began their visit to Northeast to gather opinions on National Register of Citizens (NRC).

The delegation, currently in Manipur, will visit Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura as well.

The team will speak to the common public and party leaders and gather opinions on NRC.

Senior Tripura Congress leader Gopal Roy, on Sunday, said, “The five-member Congress delegation in Imphal on Sunday. From there they would come to Tripura and then visit Assam and Meghalaya as well.”
