An ‘Integrated Tribal Development Project’ (ITDP) was launched in Mizoram on Tuesday.
The project is for development of selected tribal community in 10 villages in Lawngtlai RD Block.
It will be implemented by World Vision India (WVI), Chhimtuipui Area Development Programme (CADP) under Tribal Development Fund (TDF) of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
The project was launched by C Lalrinsanga, minister of Agriculture at Central YLA Hall, Lawngtlai.
The Minister was accompanied by H Biakzaua, MLA of Lawngtlai East Constituency and vice chairman, Agriculture Development Board and government officials from Lunglei and Lawngtlai and several MNF party workers.
The Minister praised the ITDP project for envisaging ensured food security, sustainable sources of income, saving habits and improvement in health & hygiene and mentioned his hope for successful implementation of the project.
The function was opened with a prayer by Rev R Lalnunzira, executive secretary, Baptist Church of Mizoram (BCM) Lawngtlai Area.
Dr James Neil Devasahayam Dk, Head, technical programme, World Vision India delivered a keynote address.
District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD Evan T Munsong highlighted about the project.
S N Mallick, general manager, NABARD Mizoram regional office and Anil Joseph, senior programme director, World Vision India also delivered speeches.
Paul T Touthang, programme manager, WVI Chhimtuipui ADP proposed a vote of thanks.
Integrated Tribal Development Project is a six years project for development of selected tribal community in 10 villages.
