Lakhimpur police on Sunday night arrested five persons dealing in counterfeit currencies.
The arrested persons are identified as Mijarul Islam (26), son of Abdul Kuddus of No 1 Ahmedpur, under Bihpuria Police Station, Jeherul Hoque Talukda alias Bhaiti, son of Monirul Talukdar from No 1 Daulatpur, Bangalmora, Abdul Shaheed (32), son of Nurul Hussain from Paschim Singibari, Rupohi, Nagaon, Yusuf Ali, son of Ibrahim Ali of Borsola 1 No North Lakhimpur and Kurban Ali (27), No 2 Islampur, under Bihpuria Police Station.
Police also recovered cash of about rupees 12 lakhs from their possession.
A Hyundai I-20 car bearing registration number AS07L 1256 were also recovered from the possession of Jeherul Hoque Talukdar.
Five mobile phones and two motor cycles were also recovered from them.
