Nikhil Bharat Bango Sahitya Sammelan Hojai Branch along with Hojai Senior Citizens’ Organization jointly organized Vijaya Sammelan at Swarnjayanti Bhawan in Assam’s Hojai on Sunday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Dr Amalendu Chakraborty, vice channeclor of Rabindranath Tagore University stressed on the uplift of education.
The vice chancellor expressed happiness over his appointment into the RTU.
He added everyone should work with unity for the betterment of the university.
The vice chancellor further asserted that simply appeasing Goddess Durga during puja festivities will not do.
He said ‘we need to respect and empower each woman for a prosperous life’.
Several other dignitaries spoke on this occasion, which was followed by cultural programme where small kids entralled the audience.
People from all the walks of life marked thier attendance in the Vijaya Sammelan.
