In their debut performance in India, American rock band Extreme rocked the last day of ShiRock 2019, a four-day annual rock music festival at the Bakshi ground in Ukhrul by captivating the entire crowd.

ShiRock, one of the biggest rock music competitions in Northeast is held as part of state government- sponsored Shirui Lily Festival which was held at three venues – Shirui village, Tangkhul Naga Long and Bakshi grounds in Ukhrul town from October 16 to 19.

The Boston (United States) based band, belted their popular tracks including the all time evergreen and acoustic ballad ‘More than words’ in front of the responsive crowd that the visiting band expected since their arrival for India gig.

Altogether about 15 songs including their covers from their albums III Slides to every story and Extreme II: Poronograffitti were presented during the Saturday night show.

Many fans from various parts of the country who rushed to Ukhrul hill town to watch the show– the solo hunt for the individual prize competition, felt satisfied with the ‘More than words’ heroes.

“I am not a fan of the (Extreme) band, but the performances seem to be much better during Saturday show,” says an audience who watched Extreme performance last night.

Some of the visitors also complained about traffic jam round the clock in and around Bakshi ground.
