The situation at the flooded Kopili hydropower project at Umrangsho in Assam’s Dima Hasao district has remained unchanged on Tuesday.
There has been no trace of the four officials, who went missing on Monday following the burst of a pipeline of the power project.
The four persons including three staffers of the state run North East Electric and Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) and another belong to a private firm, who had been working at the power house, had gone missing.
NEEPCO officials said that the three staffers were identified as Robert Baite, Prem Pal Balmiki and Joy Sing Timung.
“The water level of the flooded project is too high and it is not possible to carry out search and rescue operations. The water level must reduce to carry out the search and rescue operations,” said a NEEPCO official.

Locals, however, said that the NEEPCO authorities have failed to reduce the water level as they were not succeeded in closing the intake gate of the project.
“The intake gate of the project which allows the water to come in has remained non-functional for lack of maintenance,” said locals.
Top officials of the NEEPCO arrived at the flooded plant on Tuesday.
NEEPCO officials, however, refused to speak on the incident.
