The ministry of Ayush has approved a new form of Ayurvedic pain therapy devised by a Naga practitioner Imlikumba Jamir.

As per reports, the Panchakarma specialist has decided to use Naga chilly (bhut jolokia) and betel leaf as two new ingredients in the traditional mix of items that are generally used for relieving body pains.

The traditional mix of ingredients that are used for providing pain relief comprises of common chilly, garlic, ginger, rock salt and sesame oil.

Jamir had replaced common chilly with the Naga chilli in order to give more pain in an affected area of a patient which will help in reducing or killing the original pain.

The betel leaf has been added to the traditional composition for its astringent property.

Jamir who hails from Nagaland’s Mokokchung district did his masters in Panchakarma from Karnataka.

Panchakarma, a form of Ayurvedic treatment comprising of five procedures, is used for detoxifying the body, relieve pain or stress and strengthen the immune system of the human body.
