Over 5000 positive cases of dengue have been reported from various parts of Nepal since May till September this year.

As per reports, there has been a rapid outbreak of dengue in the last four months due to the rise in the number of people infected by the mosquito-borne disease.

According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), six people have died of dengue so far.

The first positive case of dengue infection was reported from Dharan city located in Sunsari district of Nepal.

Dengue has now spread to 56 out of 77 districts of the country.
